Hackers

Take a look at Roadmap and Status and figure out if there's anything you can do. If you're an expert, we'd be very glad to have you aboard. If you're just getting into development, you're welcome too, but you will be expected to basically learn the ropes by yourself. Doing this takes a lot of time, and we're busy, so don't be offended if we only decide to help you if we think you'll make an adequate return on our investment. ;) Just remember one thing: Code speaks louder than words.

If you decide there's something you can do, contact one of us somehow and we'll assign the project to you. Just remember that if you don't get it done fast enough, somebody will probably come and take it out of your hands.

Developers

Right now, unless you are willing to do kernel/hardware hacking (see hackers above), there's not much you can do. Eventually, we will need people to fill out the userspace. For example, at least a keyboard entry app will have to be developed. An important, albeit less glamorous job at the moment is to help edit and organize information that everyone collects on the wiki. It requires enough technical acumen to understand the knowledge, and document it in a way that is easy for posterity to understand.

Bureaucrats

It would be nice to have someone dedicated working on the wiki and making it well-organized and beautiful.

Financially

We'd rather have your skills and time than your money. However, we do spend some money on equipment. We'll itemize what we bought and how much we spent on it here and we'll decide if we want to take monetary donations for it later. On the one hand, actively making profit off of iPhone stuff does not sit very well with us. On the other hand, it would be nice to be reimbursed for the equipment we have to buy. If we do accept donations, it definitely shouldn't be like a slush fund. People should see exactly what they're paying for, whether it be a iPod connector breakout, a TTL chip, or a large pizza (if we decide to accept donations for "sundries" as well).
